What colossal arrogance for Otto Preminger to think that Jean Seberg caused the failure of Saint Joan (1957)!
Saint Joan was always going to fail commercially, because, quite simply, nobody going to the cinema wants to see George Bernard Shaw! And that includes his most popular piece: nobody wants to see Pygmalion - everybody wants to see My Fair Lady.
